Leonard “Lenny” Bennett Jr., age 53 of Brown City, passed away on July 8, 2024 in Emmett Township, Michigan. He was born on April 12, 1971 in Lapeer, Michigan. Lenny was a cherished father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Lenny devoted his career to mechanics, a profession that reflected his love for working with his hands and solving problems. His passion for mechanics was; only matched by his love for the outdoors, especially hunting and riding his Harley, activities that brought him immense joy and peace.
Known for his love of spending time with his family and friends, as well as his dogs; Pepper, Lulu and Bebe. Lenny’s presence was a comfort and his laughter a frequent gift to those around him.
Lenny is survived by his mother, Sandra Bennett, siblings, Kelly Bennett Cain, Ron (Carie) Bennett, Missy (Frank) Bennett, Kristi Bennett and Terri (Kevin) Hartwick, daughter, Sasha Bennett, grandchildren: Nomi, Jayla, Lenny, Nala, Arielle, and Eli, along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard “Butch” Bennett Sr., grandparents: Chuck and Margaret Bennett, Shirley and Ken Hayward, uncles, Pete Bennett, Gary Bennet, Del Hayward, Jim Hayward, niece, Kayla Cain and good friend, Tim Walker.
A memorial service to celebrate Lenny’s life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Peck Senior Center Hall in Peck.
