Leo E. Jackson, 68, of 10058 S. 11 Mile Rd, was pronounced dead on arrival at Community Hospital, where he was taken after being stricken while driving near his home.
He was born in Battle Creek and lived in the area all his life. He had worked for Grand Trunk Western Railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1981 because of poor health. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of the U.S. and Canada, a senior member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, the Disabled American Veterans Commander’s Club and American Legion Post 225, Lansing.
Surviving is a sister, Mary E. Bosher of Ceresco.
Services will be at 11 am Monday at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Michigan Heart Association. Arrangements are by Royal Funeral Home.
