Leland Chumley Ferrell, 60, of Fife Lake, died Fri, Jul 4, 1997, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Ferrell resided in Ypsilanti until 1986, when he moved to Fife Lake. He served in the U.S. Navy, and had been employed by Motor Wheel Corporation in Ypsilanti. He enjoyed farming and NASCAR Racing.
Born in Majestic, KY, on Jun 25, 1937, he was the son of Lee and Opal (Gearles) Ferrell. On Aug 1, 1959, in Vinton, OH, he was united in marriage with Bonnie Hatfield who survives.
Also surviving are son Leo (Julie) Ferrell of Fife Lake; daughters Kathy (Bradley) Tripp and Deborah (Robert) McKinney, both of South Boardman; his parents of Gallipolis, OH; three brothers; five sisters; and grandchildren Eric, Sara, Jesse, Paige, Tristan, and Beau. Funeral services were held Monday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. David McCool, pastor of Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene, officiated. Burial was in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
