Lawrence W. Tinklepaugh, 86, of Fife Lake, died Tue, Mar 8, 1994 at Tendercare of Traverse City.
Mr. Tinklepaugh was employed as a car inspector for the Grand Trunk Railroad prior to his retirement in 1970. He had resided in the Owosso-Corunna area until 1971 when he moved to Fife Lake.
Mr. Tinklepaugh was born in Bennington on Aug 18, 1907, the son of Lewis and Ada (Drebensted) Tinklepaugh. He married Gertrude Bixby on Jun 16, 1929. She died on Feb 19, 1953. He then married Rose Slemin in Owosso who predeceased him on Mar 14, 1984.
Mr. Tinklepaugh was a life member of the Railway Carmen's Union, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Betty) Miller of Evergreen, CO, Mrs. Bernard (Patricia) Yott of Corunna, Mrs. Irvin (Yvonne) Herek of Midland; four brothers, Lewis of Grand Blanc, Claude of Grand Rapids, Lynn of Grayling, Ivan of Owosso; one sister, Dorothy Austin of Owosso; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mr. Tinklepaugh was predeceased by one brother, Donald and one sister, Marie Arnett.
Funeral services were held Thu, Mar 10, at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of the Peoples Church officiated. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso.
