Lawrence L. Hayes, 62, of Rapid City died Mon, May 11, 1992 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Hayes has been a resident of Rapid City for 18 years after moving from Pontiac. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, collecting Indian memorabilia, and he enjoyed the outdoors.
He was born on Oct 17, 1929, in Detroit, to Leonard and Olive Wilkenson Hayes. In Sep 1948, he married Lorraine Boulay, who preceded him in death. In November 1964, in Pontiac, he married Nola Lyon, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven and Glen, both of Rapid City; seven daughters, Mrs. Meryl (Lillian) Bunker of Waterford, Mrs. Richard (Lenora) Butler of Tennessee, Mrs. Michael (Lorna) Holmes of Harrison, Mrs. Michael (Lorraine) Jackson of Clarkston, Mrs. Christopher (Terri) Noffsinger of Kalkaska, Mrs. Adams (Vicki) Parzych of Rapid City and Nancy Hayes of Rapid City; one brother, Leon Hayes of Traverse City; one sister Avonda Rehs of Linden; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services were held Wed, May 13, 1992 at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Father Patrick J Barrett officiated and burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
