Lawrence E Smith, 67, of Kalkaska, passed away on Sun, Dec 10, 2006, at his home. Born on Dec 17, 1938, in Flint, he was the son of the late Edwin and Joy (Jewell) Smith.
Larry was a veteran of the US Navy. He married Mabel Whitmore on Jan 15, 1993, in Kalkaska. Larry was a member of the Teamster Local 332 for 30 years. He retired from Ryder Trucking in 1993. A resident of Kalkaska since 1984, Larry was a member of the Garfield Country Church.
Surviving Larry is his wife, Mabel; his children, Ricky E (Janet) Smith of Flint, Roxanne M (Jody) Brohn of Kalkaska, Ronald E (Becky) Smith of Flint, Russell E (Amy) Smith of Traverse City, and Jason M (Jo) Briggs of Kalkaska; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; his siblings, Russell E (Glenda) Smith of Fenton, Richard B (Annie) Smith of Grand Blanc, and Gwynlaurie Mead of Flint.
The funeral service was held on Tue, Dec 12 at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home with Reverend Kimberland Hough officiating.
