Mrs. Laura M. Rogers, 82, of Kalkaska, died Wed, Feb 7, 1996, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mrs. Rogers moved to Kalkaska County 52 years ago from Lansing. For many years, she was a volunteer for the Senior Companion Program. She enjoyed fishing and camping.
Born in Elwell on Oct 13, 1913, she was the daughter of Chester and Pearl Alexander Welch. On Aug 13, 1943, in Lansing, she married John Rogers who preceded her in death on Dec 18, 1978.
Surviving are one daughter, Ruth Lance of Kalkaska; one foster Daughter, Bonnie Bell of Alpena; four brothers, Skeet, Marley, Merle, and Vern Welch; and two sisters, Mae Harold and Ellen Dotts all of southern Michigan; and six grandchildren.
One brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Sat, Feb 10, 1996, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Odell Carlisle officiated. Graveside services were held Saturday at Richland Cemetery in Vestaburg.
