Larry S Summers of Toledo passed away Jun 9, 2001, in the University of Michigan Medical Center of a heart attack. He was 66.
Mr. Summers was born in Adrian, Feb 11, 1935, to Clarence and Margaret Summers. He graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1953 and attended the University of Toledo. After working for Sohio and Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., he joined Craft House Corp in 1963, where he became executive vice president. He retired in Feb 2000.
He was a member of Pilgrim Church of the United Church of Christ and was past moderator and treasurer a member of the Board of Organization. He was a former member of Highland Meadows Golf Club and Brandywine Country Club.
Surviving are his loving wife, Yvonne; son Verne (Sally) Purkey; daughters, Michelle Penquite, Sara (Shawn) Puckett and Amy (Joe) Pollack; mother Margaret Summers; brother David (Ruthie) Summers; and grandchildren Ricky, Mary, and Kyle.
He was preceded in death by his father Clarence, and sister, Mary Sue.
Memorial services were held Jun 12, in Pilgrim Church of the United Church of Christ, with private interment.
The family suggests tributes in the form of contributions to Pilgrim Church UCC building fund or the charity of donor's choice.
Arrangements were made by the Boyer-VanWormer-Scott Funeral Home.
