Larry H. Havens, age 66 of Taconite, died Fri, Jun 13, 2008 at the Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He was born in 1942 at Warba, MN. Larry attended school in Greenway.
Following his graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force. Following his discharge, he lived in Chicago, IL, and worked as a bartender. He returned to the Grand Rapids area and was the manager of the VFW Post 1720 of Grand Rapids for several years.
On Mar 12, 1999, Larry was united in marriage to Sharlene Shears at Grand Rapids, Larry and Sharlene were a couple for 24 years. Family was important to Larry as he loved all kids. His hobbies included watching sports and trains. He also enjoyed music.
He was preceded in death by his father Paul Havens and his mother Ethel and one sister, Donna.
Survived by wife, Sharlene; six daughters, Hailey and Emily, both at home, Jody of Spokane, WA, Sabrina of NJ, Tanya of Grand Rapids, and Jennifer of Albert Lea; one son, Todd of Spokane, WA; five sisters, Ramona of Jacobson, MN, Peg of Kelly Lake, MN, Ellen of Warba, Pat of Grand Rapids, and Linda of OK; one brother, Russ of SC; 15 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Wed, Jun 18, 2008 at the Rowe Funeral Home and will continue from 10am until the 11am Funeral Service on Thu, Jun 19, 2008 also at the Rowe Funeral Home of Grand Rapids. Pastor Greg Baudeck will officiate. Interment will be at Itasca Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
