Funeral services for Lafayette Williams, 74, of Fife Lake, whose death occurred at Mercy hospital Cadillac, were held Saturday afternoon at the Fife Lake Methodist church, Rev. Ali Jarman officiating. Burial was made in Springfield Cemetery, with the Odd Fellows conducting the graveside services. Mr. Williams was a section foreman on the old G.R. & I. Railroad for several years, residing at Walton. He then moved to Fife Lake, where he was in the restaurant business later locating at Manton. Since his retirement eight years ago due to ill health, he had resided on a farm in the Stamphler district. Surviving are the widow, one daughter; several grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Emery Smith of Pontiac; Mrs. Lane Wilbur and Mrs. Ed. Frazier of Grand Rapids, and two brothers, Oliver Williams of this city and Arthur of Newberry.
