Kip D. Hornbaker, 50, a loving husband and father, of Hartford City, IN, went to be with his Lord on Sun, Sept 3, 2006 at Blackford Community Hospital Emergency Room. He died of complications. He had lived all his life in Hartford City.
Kip was born on Oct 29, 1955 in Hartford City, IN to James Hornbaker Jr. “Junior” and Kathryn Ethylmae (Johnson) Hornbaker. His father died on Jun 23, 1997. His mother lives in Hartford City.
Kip married Tamera L. (Beckley) “Tammy” Hornbaker on Mar 25, 1978 in the First Assembly of God Church in Hartford City. She survives.
Kip attended Muncie Area Career Center. He formerly worked as a System Technician for Insight Communications for 23 years. He went on disability retirement in 2001.
Kip was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Hartford and a member of Promise Keepers. He was a former member of the National Guard. He played guitar. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed bow hunting.
Kip will be sadly missed by his wife Tammy Hornbaker of Hartford City, his mother, Ethylmae Hornbaker of Hartford City, his 2 sons, Jesse J. Hornbaker of Hartford City, Kip D. Hornbaker of Hartford City, his 3 brothers, Ben Franklin (wife, Dawn M.) Hornbaker of Hartford City, Jim W. (wife, Vicki) Hornbaker of Muncie, Ted D. (wife, Tammy S.) Hornbaker of Hartford City and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 10am Thu, Sept 7, 2006 at Keplinger Funeral Home, Rev. Coleman Barlow of the First Assembly of God Church officiating.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 and 6 to 8pm Wed, Sept 6, 2006 and Thu, Sept 7, 2006 from 9 to 10am at Keplinger Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie
