Kenton E. Bissonette died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the age of 93.
He was born December 16, 1915 in Oscoda, Michigan the son of Bud and Gladys (Rahl) Bissonette.
Kenton worked for Consumers Energy Company for 33 years before his retirement.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting. Kenton made his own bows, arrows
and canoes but his passion was fly fishing. He tied his own flies, made his fly fishing rods,
owned and operated Kent Fly Shop in Lansing for many years.
He also served as an instructor at Lansing Community College where he taught fly fishing.
He was an enthusiastic M.S.U. sports fan and loved his dog, Little Man.
On June 11, 1939 he married Doris Hodge and she preceded him in death in 1990. He was also predeceased by a daughter Christine.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Delbert) Spencer of Wellington, FL and Marilyn
(Larry) Sehlke of St. Johns; one son, Randy (Christine) Bissonette of Kalkaska and many
grand and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns 989-224-4422 with Minister Chuck Emmert officiating.
Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive relatives and friends 12:00 p.m. until service time Friday
