Kay Stebbins of Saginaw, formerly of Caro, went home to be with the Lord on Mon, Jun 30, 2008 at her home. She was 71. She was born Sept 12, 1936 at Petoskey, the daughter of the late Walter B. (a Mayville High Grad) and Frances “Jean” (Taylor) Mawdesley. She lived most of her life in Caro and was a 1954 Caro High School graduate. She married Rev. Allen Stebbins on Jul 14, 1956 in Caro. They had met while attending Grand Rapids Baptist Theological Seminary. With the exception of about 15 years, she spent most of her life in Caro until moving to Saginaw. She enjoyed crafts and was involved, to the extent of her capabilities, in church activities and raising her family.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Allen Stebbins; her children: Marc Stebbins of Bretheren, and Scott and wife Gayle Stebbins of Grand Rapids; 14 grandchildren; Ashley, Travis, Chelsea, Rebekah, Naomi, Elisha, Marissa, Noah, Hailey, Shanna, Bethany, Nicholas, Nathan, and Austin; two sisters: Lynn Williams of Richmond and Sue and husband Ron Cassie of Menomonee Falls, WI; many nieces and nephews; and two aunts: Hartie Mawdesley of Frankenmuth, and Maxine Beardsley of Lapeer.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gerry Williams, and the rest of her aunts and uncles.
Funeral service was held Thu, Jul 3 at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro. The Rev. Pat Neff officiated, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska.
Arrangements were made by Collon Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested in care of the Rich Bible Church of Mayville.
