Katherine A. "Kathy" Preston, 56, of Kalkaska, formerly of Fife Lake and Elk Rapids, went home to her Father in Heaven on Thu, May 17, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was born on May 15, 1956 in Grand Rapids to the late Ross Harrington and the late Barbara (Gordon) Krumlauf.
Kathy grew up in Elk Rapids where she graduated from Elk Rapids High School in 1974. Her parents, Ray and Barbara Krumlauf, were the owners of Elk Lake Floral where Kathy loved and learned the art of floral design. Her most recent florist job was with Kalkaska Gifts and Floral.
Kathy was a big Disney fan and loved vacationing in Florida at Disney World. Her talents spanned a huge area from deer hunting and working on cars to sewing clothing and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her four grandchildren. She was a sweet, kind, and loving person who will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.
