Karen Suzette Kohler, age 77, of Drummond Island, Michigan, died April 9, 2019, at Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was born March 29, 1942, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Roy Wills and Virginia Merle (Babcock) Wills.
Karen lived in the Detroit area for much of her life. She worked at AP Green & Ford Motor Company Refractories in Taylor, Michigan, for many years. She moved to Drummond Island in 2001.
On Drummond Island, Karen was active in the Homemakers Club, Garden Club, and Red Hats Society.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed riding ATV in the woods on the Island. She was also an animal lover especially her dog Coco.
Karen is survived by her husband, Edwin James Kohler of Drummond Island; her mother, Virginia Wills of Concord; children, Kandi (Tony) Nardone of Trenton, Michigan, Joe (Jennifer) Vitkay of Novi, Michigan, and Jill Martin of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Kevin (Leslie) Kohler of East Jordon, Michigan, Gordon Kohler of Farmington, Michigan, and Brian Kohler of Gibralter, Michigan; grandchildren, Alex, Kourtney, Isabella, Sophia, Kira, Angelina, Aiden, Tyler, Brianna, Savanha, Shelby and Sadie; and brother, Ken Wills.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Roy Wills; and daughter, Cindy Suessine.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on May 10, 2019 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. at Drummond Island Lutheran Church followed by a luncheon at the Drummond Island Township Hall.
Interment will be in Drummond Island Township Cemetery at a later date.
