Karen (Taylor) King, born Mar 23, 1948, went to be with her Heavenly Father on her 60th birthday, Mar 23, 2008.
She was born in Traverse City to Kenneth C. Taylor, who died Jun 30, 2007, and Leah B. (Basch) Flynn who survives.
Karen enjoyed many things in life, serving her father, God, knitting, puzzles, baking, helping others and being a nurse working with the elderly at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
The one thing that gave Karen the most joy in her life were her three grandchildren, Nicholas, Kimberly and Keith King. They continually brought her joy and happiness as she attended their various school and other activities.
Surviving Karen are her mother, Leah B (Basch) Flynn of Traverse City; son, Rich (Grace) King of Interlochen; sister, Linda (Larry) Golden of Saginaw; brothers, Bill (Rose) Taylor of Orlando, FL, Tim Taylor and Tom Taylor, both of Flint, and Larry (Cindi) Flynn of Traverse City; sister, Rebecca Fall of Thompsonville; along with many nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Kenneth and Georgia Taylor; stepfather Joe Flynn; and mother and Father in law, Donald and Emma King.
Visitation will take place today, Mar 26, 2008 from 6 to 8pm at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate Karen’s life will be held Thu, Mar 27, 2008, at 2pm at Trinity Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
