Junior Harold Powers, 70, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, August 29, 2004, at Battle Creek Health System in Battle Creek.
He was born January 9, 1934 in, Michigan, the son of Harold Gale and Mildred A. (Silvers) Powers .
He served in the Air Force during Korean Conflict as a Private. He enlisted on February 19, 1952 and was discharged on February 18, 1956.
He has been at the Battle Creek Veterans Medical Center for the past ten years.
He worked at several business in Battle Creek and took care of his mother after his fathers death in 1963.
He is survived by Sister: Juanita France, Delton; Niece: Linda Kahler, Delton; Nephew: Ronald France, Delton; Sisters: Della Griffin, Betty Lou Phillips, Lillian Wilkerson; Brother: Richard Powers, several nieces, nephews and great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his Parnets; brothers: Kenneth Powers and Douglas Powers.
He enjoyed bingo, reading and was an avid Detroit Lions fan.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday,?September 2, 2004, at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Pastor Steven S. Olmstead of the Pleasantview Family Church officiating.
Burial will be at the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Emmett Township.
Memorial tributes may be made to American Diabetes Association.
