Mrs. Julia Godley died last Fri at the home of her son, Will Godley, on South Second St. after a long illness at the age of 77 years. Funeral services were held Sun afternoon at the first M.E. Church of which she had been a faithful and loyal member for many years, and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. E.C. Wardlow. Interment was in the Rogers Cemetery by the side of her husband who died here eighteen years ago. The Godley came to Rogers in 1899 and she had lived on or near Rogers since that time. Mrs. Godley was a woman of many splendid qualities and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends. She is survived by 5 children: Mrs. N.G. Stine of Glasco, KS, Mrs. Seymour Alford of Fort Worth, TX, Mrs. A.E. Montgomery of Florence, CO, Charles Godley of Huntington Park, CA, and William Garrett Godley of Rogers.
