Joyce Virginia Robbins, 73, of Port Huron Township, MI passed away on Nov 17, 2009. She was born in Detroit, MI on Mar 12, 1936. Joyce’s grandparents and parents lived on Elk Street in Port Huron for many years.
Joyce married the love of her life, Bob Robbins on Dec 6, 1952 and the spent 56 joyful years together. During those 56 years they created a wonderful family of 6 children, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Joyce spent her life dedicated to her family and ensured that everyone around her was taken care of. She cared so deeply about the people she loved and if you ask anyone who knew her, they will tell you she was an angel with the elegance of a Northern Belle.
Joyce accomplished many things over her lifetime; for example, she holds a patent for a protective shield at Essex Wire Corporation which improved overall worker safety. She was also a leader amongst her peers and was appointed their union representative, in which she fought for worker’s rights and equality. She also earned many awards from the Port Huron Elks Lodge for helping needy families and ensuring children, who did not have families, enjoyed a Christmas of their own.
Joyce Robbins was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who is survived by her husband, Bob Robbins, her children, Jack Robbins, Deborah Badger, Rob Robbins, Rick Robbins, Ann Parmann, and Wayne Robbins.
