Long Time resident passes away
Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine M. Westover, 80, were held on Friday, May 13, at the Butman Bretheren in Christ Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Starr officiating. Burial was in Butman cemetery. Josephine Cunningham was born in Sanilac county on August 18, 1868, and was married to Charles Westover in Gladwin in 1889. Mr. Westover passed away in 1927. They were residents of Gladwin county for 66 years. Mrs. Westover passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Percy Briggs, in Farmington, after three weeks of illness.
Surviving are four sons, Bruce of St. Ignace, Charles of Drayton Plains, Frank of Pickford, and Joseph of Wayne; five daughters, Mrs. Blanche Briggs and Mrs. Grace Simpson, both of Farmington, Mrs. Elsie Foote of Gladwin, Mrs. Nellie Remer of Detroit, and Mrs. Neva Stuck of Saginaw; 37 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. One daughter Bessie, preceded her mother in death.
