Joseph S. Jurko, 68, of Rapid City, died Thu, Sep 23, 1999, at his home.
Born in Hamtramck on May 7, 1931, he is the son of John and Feliksa (Maliszewski) Jurko. On Sep 6, 1980, in Taylor, he was married in Marilyn Teehan.
Mr. Jurko resided in Canton until 1989, when he moved to Kalkaska County. Prior his retirement he had been employed by Bendix Corporation, Cummings Engine, and the Kalkaska Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed working in his yard, visiting with friends and neighbors, collecting Beanie Babies with his grandson Stephen, and listening to country music.
Surviving are his loving wife Marilyn Teehan Jurko of Rapid City; daughters Diane Collin of Plymouth and Michelle Laux of Algona; sister Jane Foster of Algonac; and grandchildren Stephen Stevens, Erin Collin, and Christopher Laux.
