Joseph L Hohler Jr. 53, of South Boardman, passed away suddenly on Jul 9, 2005, in a motorcycle accident.
Born on Sep 21, 1951, in Kalamazoo, he was the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Lindner) Hohler Sr.
Joseph graduated from Hackett Catholic Central High School in 1969. He continued his education and graduated from Kalamazoo Valley College and Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.
Joseph married Jackie Haight on Oct 3, 1980, in Kalamazoo. They moved to South Boardman in 1998 from Kalamazoo. Joseph was employed by Sara Lee in Traverse City and previously worked at National Waterlift in Kalamazoo for 23 years. He enjoyed golfing, playing pool, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, family and friends.
Joseph is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Jackie; children, Laura (Tim) Buist of Mattawan, Gina (Mike) Bax of Portage, Mike (Sara) Wessel of Vicksburg, Peter (Wendy) Wessel of Long Rapids, and Joseph L (Amy) Hohler III of Kalamazoo; 9 grandchildren; one great grandson; parents, Joseph and Dorothy Hohler Sr of Kalamazoo; siblings, Tom (Nancy) Hohler of West Jordan, UT, Alice (JOhn Danielson) Hohler of Vicksburg, Paul (Roxanne) Hohler of Richland, Bill ( Barb) Hohler of Maeridan, ID, Sharon Meade of Holland, Steven Hohler of Butte, Montana, Richard (Julie) Hohler of Mattawan, James (Maureen) Hohler of Lakeview, Susan (Steve) Bradford of Comstock, John (Melanie) Hohler of South Bend, IN, Laura (Jason) Nieboer of Kalamazoo, Michael (Tia) Hohler of Kalamazoo; and 29 nieces and nephews.
Visitation was set for Tue, Jul 12 from noon to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. The funeral service will be on Wed, Jul 13, at 3 pm at the funeral home with additional visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Pastor Dan Biteman of Grawn United Methodist Church will be officiating. Interment will be Ingersoll Cemetery.
