Joseph J. Rapoza, 64, of Pensacola, FL, died Sat, Sep 11, 1993, in Kalkaska County.
Mr. Rapoza was a resident of Kalkaska from 1968 until 1984 when he moved to Florida following his retirement from Ford Motor Company. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII, and enjoyed shrimping, restoring automobiles, and woodworking. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 182, the Florida Chapter of Retirees, and Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Pensacola.
Mr. Rapoza was born in Norton, MA, on Jul 29, 1929, to Joseph and Annie Ferrira Rapoza. On Sep 22, 1949, in Fall River, MA he was married to Lydia Viviros who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Carlton, Joseph, Darrell, and Arthur Rapoza all of Kalkaska; two daughters, Shirley Nolff of Flint, and Karen Krumlauf of Kalkaska; two brothers, Arthur of Rhode Island and Frank of Florida; one sister, Mary Redd of Georgia; 18 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
One daughter, Vivian LaBombarbe, preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thu, Sep 16, 1993, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Kalkaska. Father Patrick J. Barrett will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
Visitation will be held at Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tue and Wed.
The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
