John W. Ingersoll, 49, of Fife Lake died Feb 28, 1998, at his home.
John had been a lifelong resident of the Fife Lake area, and was employed in construction prior to his retirement. He was the lead guitarist for the North Country Blue Grass Gospel Group, and played in area foster and nursing homes. He enjoyed his family and composing songs.
Born in Kalkaska County on Oct 20, 1948, he was the son of Frank and Luwana Helsel Ingersoll. On Nov 24, 1972, in Fife Lake, he married Linda LaKies, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Joseph Ingersoll and John Ingersoll Jr, both of Fife Lake; brother Harold Ingersoll of Fife Lake; sisters Joyce and Jean Ingersoll both of Fife Lake, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Steve, sisters Shirley White, and his motehr in law Florence McGeehen.
Funeral services were held March 3 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Dan Ingersoll and Lester Otto officiated. Burial was in Ingersoll Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
