John Hayward, 94, of 7030 Wells Street, Brown City, died today in Sanilac Medical Care Facility, Sandusky, after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 14, 1879, in Sanilac County. He married Minnie Blatt on Dec 6, 1904, in Peck, and they farmed near Brown City. She died Nov. 3, 1972.
Hayward is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Cornell, Brown City, and Mrs. Elnora Payne, Almont; two sons, Clarence and Kenneth Hayward, both of Brown City; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
Remains are in the Carman Funeral Home, Brown City, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Rev. Warren Pettis, pastor of Brown City Methodist churches, will officiate.
Burial will be in Omard Cemetery.
