John Harvey Weaver, 79, 4 White Oak Court, died at home Wednesday, Mar 28.
He was born Jul 21, 1921 in Montpelier to Melvin and Nancy Hornbaker Weaver. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1939. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was the former owner of John’s Meat Market, Marion, and retired from Indiana State Board of Health as a meat inspector and cutter. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.
He was a resident of Hartford City for most of his life and was a member of Montpelier American Legion and Pleasantdale United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Julia M. Day Lewis-Weaver, whom he married in Mar 1984; four sons, Mike J Weaver (wife, Connie, Brandon, MS, Rick J Weaver (wife, Pam) Selma, Randy J Weaver (wife, Marti), and Mark J Weaver (wife, Beth), Hartford City; six grandchildren, Cheryl Coffey and Brant, Joshua, Gabriel, Kameron and Kaylen Weaver; four stepchildren, Mark S. Lewis, Bluffton, James W. Lewis (husband: Gail), Hartford City, Timothy D Lewis, (wife, Jenny), Lisa D. Michael of Summitville; four great grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren, Brant Harter, Laura Lewis, Raymond Lewis, Andrew Lewis, Kevin Lewis, Joshua Michael, and Melissa Michael.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Treva Neff and Madeline Black.
Services will be 2 pm Sat, Mar 31, 2001, in Keplinger Funeral Home. Burial will be in Montpelier IOOF Cemetery, with a graveside military service by Moyer-Pooler American Legion Post.
Calling will be 3-5 and 6-8 pm today and 8 am – 2 pm Saturday at Keplinger Funeral Home.
