John H. Beckman, 79 of South Boardman passed away Sat, May 17, 2003, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
He was born on Aug 14, 1923 in Detroit, the son of Henry and Ruby (Jennings) Beckman.
John served in the US Army during WWII in Europe. He was a resident of South Boardman since 1968. John retired from Michigan Bell Telephone after many years of service installing telephones in the area.
John is survived by his daughter, Mary (Ryan) Hart of Williamsburg; stepson Robert Jones of Smithfield, VA; grandsons, John Hart and Gregory Hart of Williamsburg; step grandchildren, Verna (Fletcher) Whitley, Annette Cross, Linda (Rick) Rich and Robert L (Donna) Jones, all of Yorktown, VA; and sister, Pat Pitsenberger of South Boardman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and his son, John D. Beckman.
Visitation took place Sun, May 18, at Wolfe Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Mon, May 19 at 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Rev. Ted N Turanski officiating. Interment will be in Boardman Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be given on behalf of John Beckman to the St Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska. Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
