John E. Findley Sr, 74, of Traverse City, died Sun, Jan 15, 1995, at Traverse City Community Hospital.
Mr. Findley was employed by National Steel Company in Detroit for 30 years, and moved to Kalkaska following his retirement in 1972. He had resided in Traverse City for the past 5 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Born in Jackson, OH on Oct 2, 1920, he was the son of John and Margaret Copas Findley. On Oct 20, 1942 in Joplin, Missouri he was married to Marguerite Kirby who survives.
He was the devoted husband of Marguerite; beloved father f John Jr and Mark both of Traverse City, Michael of Taylor, Donald and David both of Gaylord, Karen Jones and Diana Campbell both of Traverse City, and Robin McCool of Kalkaska. Thirty grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive. Two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the East Bay Calvary Church. Rev. Wesley Rowe and Rev. Kendale Dennis officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
