John C. Kimball, 88, of Kalkaska passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 22, 2005, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Nov. 28, 1916, in Garfield Township, he was the son of Ezra and Etta (Sutton) Kimball.
John married Ruah Hatley on Feb. 20, 1937 in Traverse City. He was a carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union for more than 40 years.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved his family very much. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ.
John is survived by his wife, Ruah, of 68 years; children, John D. (Mary A.) Kimball of Marshall, Loretta Ann (James) Hamilton of Dearborn Heights and Raymond M. (Linda) Kimball of Bois Island; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding John in death were his siblings Ila, Lester, Alice, Alfred and Stanley.
The funeral service was held on Monday, July 25, at 1 p.m. at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Dan Johnson of the Kalkaska Church of Christ officiated. Interment was at Garfield Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be given on behalf of John to the building fund of the Kalkaska Church of Christ.
