John C. (Jake) Hansen, 67, of Kalkaska, died Tue, Feb 21, 1995, at his residence.
A lifelong resident of Kalkaska County, he had been employed by Wayne Wire Cloth Products for many years prior to his retirement in 1992. He served with the U.S. Navy in the Philippines during WWII. He was a member of the N.R.A., and enjoyed his family, hunting, baseball, basketball, and gardening.
Mr. Hansen was born in Kalkaska County on Mar 7, 1927, to Arthur E. and Bertha Ames Hansen. On May 7, 1947, in Traverse City, he was married to Susannah Hager who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Craig (Ann) Williams of Higgins Lake, Mrs. Jerry (Jeanne) Hawkins of Cadillac, and Mrs. Gary (Susannah) Farr of Kalkaska; his parents, Arthur and Bertha Hansen of Kalkaska; two brothers, Winfield Hansen of Kalkaska, and Alfred C. Hansen of Lansing; one sister, Dorothy Darke of Muskegon; seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Fri, Feb 24, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of The Peoples Church, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
