WAINWRIGHT, Joanne Joanne Wainwright, 80, of Wethersfield, passed away Wednesday (October 31, 2007). She was born July 21, 1927 in Detroit, MI the daughter of the late David and Maude (Tolbert) Wainwright, and lived in Ludlow, MA before moving to Wethersfield in 1942. Joanne was a 64 year member of First Church of Christ in Wethersfield and as a teenager she sang in the Junior Choir and later served as a Sunday School teacher for several years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter in Wethersfield and served as Worthy Matron from 1959-1960. Joanne is survived by three sisters: Irene Wainwright of Wethersfield, Ruth Ellsworth of Wethersfield and Janet Gingell and her husband Edward of East Hartford. She is also survived by nephews Brian Ellsworth and his wife Debra of Rocky Hill and their children Kristin Bushey and her husband Peter, Sara Schamback and her husband Philip, David Ellsworth and Rachel Ellsworth; and John Tolhus and his wife Lori of Portland and their children Samantha and John; nieces Laura Bober and her partner Paul of Vernon and her children Eric and Stephanie; Brenda Carrier and her husband Paul of Brooklyn and their son Michael; Sharon Bruce and her husband Douglas of Newington and their son Jonathan; Corinne Bergeron and her husband Robert of Ashford and their children Bethany and Robert; and great great nephews and nieces Nathan and Kaelyn Bushey and Miranda and Tucker Schamback. She was devoted to her nieces and nephews and as each one reached the appropriate age she and her sister Irene took them on many trips, including Washington, D.C.
