Joann Heystek, of Montrose, age 92, died Tue, Aug 1, 2023 at Chesaning Comfort Care. Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm on Fri, Aug 4, 2023 at Montrose Global Methodist Church. Pastor Mike Perez and Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. The family will receive visitors on Fri, Aug 4, 2023 from 1 pm until time of service at the church. Joann was born Sep 9, 1930 in Flint, MI to the late Ralph and Olive (Clapsaddle) Dilsworth. She grew up in Flint, MI and graduated from Central High School with the class of 1948. On Sep 16, 1950 she married Joseph J. Heystek in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death on Oct 24, 2008. Joann assisted her husband in the operation of Joe Heystek Excavating since 1958. She was a member of the Montrose United Methodist church and taught Sunday School there for several years. Joann was also a member of the Church Woman United where she served as Treasurer. She was also a Red Cross volunteer serving FOH for many years. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, traveling and of course shopping. However, her greatest joy in life was her family, especially all of her grandchildren.
Surviving are: children, John (special friend Nancy), Joe (Brenda), Jane (Kirk) Bachman, Bill; daughter in law, Fran; grandchildren, John (Kathy), Robyn (Jerod), Lauren (Martin), Joe (Jeannie), Jason (Nora), Keith, Ryan (Whitney), Jonathon, Ronnie, Lindsey, Anthony (Johlyn); great grandchildren, Ella, Josie, Jackson, Zack, Gavin, Zander, Klara, Roman, Kellen, Quincy, Max, Skylin, Wyatt, Cohen, Landon, Jase; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Heystek, son, Chris Heystek; grandson, Richard Heystek; brother, Barry Dilsworth.
