Jesse Cook Letherby, 96, of Williamsburg, died Thu, Oct 1, 1992 at his residence.
Mr. Letherby was a railroad fireman, a Traverse City police officer and a service station owner. He was also a cherry farmer and builder and operator of the Munson Avenue Motel.
He was born on Jan 6, 1896, in Barker Creek, to John and Kittybelle Cook Letherby.
Surviving are one son, Frank (Nancy) Letherby of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren Michael (Rebecca) Letherby and Cyndee (Tim) Grzeszak, both of Grand Rapids and Frank (Anne) Letherby of Columbus, OH; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Letherby of Grand Rapids, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step father, John Peterson, one brother, William Letherby, and two sisters, Mae Hanson and Bessie Batton.
Funeral services were held Sat, Oct 3, 1992 at the Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
