Jerry B. Sherman, 70, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Mar 15, 1997, at his residence.
Mr. Sherman spent his childhood in Mancelona and served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a data processor for General Motors, retiring in 1986. Following his retirement, he moved to Kalkaska County. He was affiliated with the Mancelona Missionary Church and enjoyed hunting, painting, and golf.
He was born Sep 2, 1926, in Mancelona, to Merrell and Blanche (Long) Sherman. On Aug 13, 1955, in Lincoln Park, he married Lila Jambeck, who survives.
Also surviving are brothers William Sherman of Marne, and James Sherman of Sanford, NC; sisters Mildred Ray of Mancelona, and Onalee Gildas of Alden; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held March 18 at the Mancelona Missionary Church. Pastor Michael McGlynn and Rev. Curtis Alexander officiated. Burial will be in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County, in the spring. Military rites were conducted under the auspices of Land O'Lakes VFW Post 8684.
