Jerry A. Ream, 60, of Ada died Friday, June 16, 2000, at his home.
He retired in 1992 from the Lima Ford Engine Plant and had completed a machine repair apprenticeship at the Ford Motor Company in 1988. He was a 1957 graduate of Lima Senior High School and was a veteran of the Marine Reserves. He was a member of the United Auto Workers and the Lima Post of the VFW and enjoyed farming, coin collecting and working on anything mechanical.
He was born Oct. 24, 1939, in Dunkirk to the late Kenneth and Violet Gossard Ream.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Young Ream; his stepmother, Johnnie Ream of Lima; a son, Bruce Alan (Cindy) Ream of Rawson; three daughters, Tina Annette (Michael) Rettig of New Haven, Ind., Kimberly Ann (Michael) Mathewson of Marsville and Pennie Alicia (Ryan) Kloeppel of Columbus Grove; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Donald Ream of Waynesville; a stepbrother, Albert Childres of Lima; two sisters, Ruth Friemoth of Lima and Colleen Spillman of Waynesfield; and a stepsister, Ruby Pauline of Laguna Hills, CA.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes Bluffton Chapel, 239 S. Main St, Bluffton. Chaplain Richard Coon will officiate and burial will be at the Thomson Cemetery in Bluffton, Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today.
