Jeffrey Allan Marshall, 60, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Jan 6, 2020.
Jeff was born Feb 28, 1959 to Margaret Bird and Cletus Marshall Sr in Sault Ste Marie. He moved to Grand Rapids when he was four and that is where he spent much of his life. He was raided with his older sister, Susan Marshall Florip, and his older brother, Cletus Marshall Jr. He also had a younger brother, Jerome King.
He was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
Jeff will be fondly remembered by his friends, family, and care-giving team. He was known for his sense of humor and his love of the natural world around him. He also was an amazing uncle and loved all animals. He loved to give to his friends, family, and charities such as Feeding America. He enjoyed drawing and made dream catchers and jewelry.
Jeff went to a treatment center in Baraga in 1996 and was given an eagle feather. That feather later passed through many hands and helped many people receive the gift of sobriety.
A Sacred Fire was held for Jeff and attended by his family of loved ones. Graveside services will be held in the sprint at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Kewadin.
A special thank you is extended to the AdvisaCare Team for surrounding Jeff with support in his final hours and helping Jeff's family through his transition.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Covell Funeral Home of Elk Rapids.
