Jeanne Claire Hawkins, 57, of Cadillac died Fri, Sep 8, 2006, at her home.
Jeanne was born in Traverse City on Jun 3, 1949, to John C and Susannah M (Hager) Hansen. She graduated from Kalkaska High School. She married Jerry D. Hawkins on Aug 29, 1980, in Kalkaska.
Jeanne worked as a server at the Park Place, Dills, Boone's Long Lake Inn from 1967 to 1981. She also sold Avon and was a President's Club member from 1994 to 1999. Most recently she had worked as a leasing agent for Harbor View Apartments from 1997 to 2006.
Jeanne enjoyed gardening, taking care of animals, walking on the family property, reading and traveling. She took great joy in her family and was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and wife.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry, of Cadillac; son, Adam Hawkins of Traverse City; daughter, Erin Hawkins of Traverse City; step son, James (Tammy) Hawkins of Phoenix, AZ; step daughter, Mariann (David) Long of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren; her mother, Susannah Hansen of Kalkaska; sisters, Sue Farr of Kalkaska, and Ann (Craig) Williams of Higgins Lake; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Hansen; brother in law, Gary Farr; and grandparents, Art and Bertha Hansen, and Tom and Claire Hager.
Funeral services were held Tue, Sep 12, 2006, at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac, with Pastor Karl Schwenke officiated. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska, MI.
