Jason Kent Mathewson, 16, of Marysville, died Monday, May 3, 2004 as a result of an automobile accident. He was a sophomore at Marysville High School where he was a sound and lighting technician and member of Marysville Chapter FFA. He also worked at Wendy’s, helped neighbors with chores, and assisted his mother with her business, Kim’s Upholstery Shop. He enjoyed trapshooting, hunting, fishing, and trapping, attended Calvary Baptist Church and was involved with “Youth In Action” fellowship group. He was born January 13, 1988 in Bellefontaine, and is survived by his parents, Mike and Kim Mathewson; a sister, Krista Marie Mathewson; his grandparents, R. Kent (Mary) Mathewson and Mary Ream, all of Ada; two aunts, Tina (Michael) Rettig of Marion and Penni (Ryan) Kloeppel of Columbus Grove; and two uncles, Bruce (Cyndi) Ream of Rawson and Robert J (Amy) Mathewson of Delphos. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church on St. Rt. 347. Rev. Wayne Guynn will officiate and burial will be at Raymond Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm Friday at Underwood Funeral Home, Marysville.
