Janet P Earl, 82, of Marshall, formerly of Kalkaska, died Fri, Jun 4, 1999, at Marshall Manor.
Mrs. Earl was a graduate of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. She taught for several years at the Harper Creek High School in Battle Creek, and later at the Kalkaska High School. Upon her retirement, she moved to Marshall.
Born in Maymont, Saskatchewan, Canada, on Feb 16, 1917, she is the daughter of Roy and Janet Warcup Vipond. On Aug 28, 1937, in South Boardman, she married Homer Earl, who preceded her in death in 1971.
Surviving are daughter Linda Ruggles of Middleburg, FL; sons H Jon Earl of Grosse Pointe Woods and James Earl of Marshall; sisters Dorothy Hollifield of Kalkaska, Shirley Deardoff of Irving, TX and Olga Schoppler of Chardon, OH; brother Max Vipond of Lake Odessa; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Daughter Sandra Sue and sister Patricia Spencer preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Jun 8 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Pastor Larry Fetzer officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
