Jane King, 92, of Traverse City and formerly of Kalkaska, passed away on Tue, Jul 10, 2012, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Jane was born on Oct 22, 1919 in Spinney Hill, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of the late George and Bertha (Imler) Vipond.
Jane married Glenn King on Oct 22, 1946 in Kalkaska. She worked as a secretary for the USDA for 22 1/2 years before retiring. Jane was a volunteer for Kalkaska Hospice and for Munson Hospice. She was also a member of the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene and the Kalkaska VFW #8684 Women's Auxiliary.
Surviving Jane are her children, Dennis (Colleen) King of Maple City, Sandy Goodrich of Aurora, CO, and Marcia Ryckman of Traverse City; her grandchildren Jennifer (Dan) Booth, Todd (Jamie) Goodrich, Casey (Jenelle) Goodrich, Andrew King, and Steven King; and five great grandchildren.
Proceeding Jane in death was her husband, Glenn; her siblings, Albert Vipond, Mary Vipond, and Doris (Vipond) Ashe.
Visitation will be on Sun, Jul 22 from 4 to 8 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Funeral services will be Mon, at 2pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
