James Coppens, 71, of Crystal River, died Wed (Oct 11, 2006) at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Born in Empire, MI, he came here in 1980 from Missouri. He attended Michigan Technological University of Engineering, University of MIchigan, and Nova University, where he received a degree in business. He was senior contracts manager with 22 years of service for Duke Fluor Daniel. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sue Ann; two daughters, Marion Coppens, Crystal River, and Terri Kurtz, Hernando; a son, Tony Heitz, Crystal River; a brother, John, Charlevoix, MI; two sisters, Alice Diggins, Empire, and Barbara Vogel, Suttons Bay, MI; four grandchildren; and a step granddaughter. Strickland Funeral Home, Crystal River.
