James Paul "Jim" Zemke, 54, of Fife Lake, passed away, Sat, Jul 11, 2009, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Jim was born Fri, Jun 3, 1955, to David C. and Lyrl Ruth (Parsons) Zemke in Antigo, WI.
A veteran of the Vietnam era, Jim served his country as a member of the US Army.
On Jan 16, 1993, he married the former Georgetta Sue McNamara in Traverse City.
Jim worked as a supervisor in the oil fields. He enjoyed gardening, camping, being outdoors, and catch and release fishing.
His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Georgie; a son, Andrew of Brighton; daughters, Carol (George) Nulf and Carla (Chris) Cinader, both of South Boardman; grandsons, Cody Rebone, Christopher Cinader, Dustin Robert and Craig Cinader; his mother, Lyrl Ruth Zemke of Traverse City; brother, Gregg (Yelena) Zemke of Houston and nieces, Kelli Ann (Brian) Ingersoll and Christine Zemke.
Jim was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Michelle.
A time to celebrate Jim's life will take place at 4 pm Sat, Jul 18, 2009, at his home.
The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
