James P. Danielson, 60, of Traverse City, died Thu, Aug 12, 2004, at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born on Dec 10, 1943, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Paul John and Agnes Louise (Ogren) Danielson.
On Dec 11, 1965, at Redford Gospel Chapel in Detroit, he married the former Nell Weld, who survives.
Jim also leaves a sister in law, Margaret Weld McConahy; and a brother in law, John (Joan) Weld.
Raised in Southfield, Jim had been employed as a truck driver in various road construction companies for 30 years, owning and operating his own truck for five years.
Jim had also been the owner and operator of Hershy's Donuts in Kalkaska, and worked at Paint Works in Warren, working in designing, updating and improvement of the lines. He was a licensed pilot, an FCC licensed radio operator, and master control operator for Fox TV.
Jim's last job had been as a greeter at WalMart.
He volunteered with Traverse City's first Christian Radio Station, WLJN, and in the last year an a half. Jim became involved with his Immanuel Baptist Church family, where he gave and received much love.
Jim's hobbies included photography and he loved southern gospel and studio organ music. He will be fondly remembered as a beloved husband, uncle, and friend.
Friends may call at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City on Sun from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.
A funeral service will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church on Mon, Aug 16, 2004, at 11 am, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. William Geisel will officiate the service.
