James P. Hittle, 84, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Sep 21, 1991, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Hittle moved to Kalkaska County with his parents at the age of nine years, and had lived here most of his life. He was a retired construction worker.
Born in Mecosta County on Aug 13, 1907, he was the son of the late Phillip and Ella Mae (Rose) Hittle. In 1936, he was married to Caroline Stankewitz who preceded hi in death in 1960. On Sep 18, 1961, in Wheaton, IL, he was united in marriage with Edna Krepps White, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Edward Hittle of Springfield, VA and James Hittle of Ft. Pierce, FL; two daughters, Carole Martinson of LaMarida CA, and Florence Burke of Kalkaska; two stepchildren; two brothers, Jesse Hittle of Harbor Beach, and Ford Hittle of Alden; two sisters, Blanch Shepardson and Mary Radwanski both of Manton; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 18 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
One son, Lawrence, two sisters, Lydia Forman and Florence Hart; and one step grandson, Robert Bennett, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tue, Sep 24, 1991 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Richard Jones, pastor of the Evergreen Bible Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
