James K. Tucker, 79, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Dec 18, 1993, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Tucker was born in Lima, OH on Jul 25, 1914, son of the late James and Lesta Smith Tucker. He was married to Jennie Young on Nov 23, 1939, in Kalamazoo. She preceded him in death on Jun 2, 1993.
Mr. Tucker moved to Kalkaska County in 1971 from Kalamazoo where he had been employed in construction work. In Kalkaska County he worked in security, and for many years was employed by Elmond Nolff. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kalamazoo, and was an avid outdoorsman. He was well known to many children in the area as "Santa's Helper."
Surviving are one son, Thomas Tucker of Kalamazoo; three daughters, Marjorie Hendrickson and Patricia Ann Shaffer both of South Haven, and Linda Nyhof of West Olive; one sister, Mabel Funk of Springfield, OH; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Two brothers, Jesse and Walter tucker preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be held Tue, Dec 21, 1993, at Boardman Township Cemetery. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of the Peoples Church. officiated.
