James J Mulvihill, Jr, 92, a resident of Fife Lake since 1973, died Thu, Feb 8, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Mulvihill was employed by the Detroit Zoo, and resided in Detroit prior to moving to Fife Lake. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus St Joseph the Worker Council, the VFW and the American Legion.
He was born in Detroit on Jun 28, 1908, the son of James J and Mary Burns Mulvihill. On May 5, 1962, in Detroit, he was united in marriage with Margaret Beasley, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by stepchildren Richard J Beasley Jr of McMillan, Nancy (Bick) Mayo of Brighton, Mary "Kay" Nowakowski and George Beasley, both of Fife Lake; brother Frank (Betty) Mulvihill of New Jersey; 15 grandchildren; and several great and great great grandchildren.
Sisters Sister Ellen James, Eileen Fairchild, Mary O'Gorman, and Margaret Cooney, and brother Charles Mulvihill, preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 am Monday at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church; Father Jim Holtz officiated. Interment was in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
Arrangements were handled by World Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
