Jack T. Raines, 75, of Kalkaska, died Sun, Dec 26, 1999, at his residence.
Mr. Raines moved to Kalkaska 30 years ago from Lansing. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and was a real estate broker and retired mechanic. He was an airplane pilot, and during the 1960s, worked as a mechanic for Parnelli Jones and A.J. Foyt. He enjoyed airplanes and was a great lover of animals.
Born in Charlotte on Jun 4, 1924, he is the son of Charles and Enomia Wylie Raines.
Surviving are children Michael (Laurie) Raines of Potterville, and Vickie, Jack, and Jill; sister Rosemary of Lansing; and several grandchildren.
Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Dec 30 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Rev. David McCool of the Kalkaska Church of the Nazarene officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kalkaska Animal Shelter.
