Jack E. Brownell, 80, a lifelong resident of Rapid City, died Wed, Jul 28, 1999 at Munson Medical Center.
Mr. Brownell was a retired plumber and mail carrier, adn was a life member of the Elk Rapids Masonic Lodge. During WWII he served as a staff sergeant with the 64th Fighter Squadron in the Army Air Corps. He enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Brownell was born in Rapid City on Nov 13, 1918, to Guy and Vera Barber Brownell.
Surviving are sons Joel (Carolyn) Brownell of Marceline, MO, and David (Leta) Brownell of Rockford; special friend Doris Way and her family, all of Kalkaska; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Sisters Betty and Jean preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Jul 31 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; E. Dan Johnson officiated. Burial was in Clearwater Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County, with military rites under the auspices of Land O'Lakes VFW Post 8684.
