Ivan Groth of Manton died Sun, August 11, 2002 at his home after a long illness. He was 84.
He was born Mar 9, 1918 in Cadillac to William and Melinda (Brown) Groth. On December 24, 1941, he married Berdena Kimbel in Mancelona.
Mr. Groth grew up in Cadillac and lived in Marshall for a short time. He operated an automobile service garage in Cadillac with Wilder Bishop for a number of years. He moved to Manton in 1948. He was employed at Kysor Industrial in Cadillac for 23 years, retiring in 1975.
Survivors include his wife, Berdena; sons, Lee (Robin) Groth of Grand Rapids and Ronald (Brenda) Groth of Manton; daughter, Marsha (Victor) Hogberg of Temperance; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel, Vernon, Charles and George; and sisters Dorothy and Ruth.
Services are 2:30pm Fri at Rollins Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Paul Lewis and Rev. Robert Lanning officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Township Cemetery.
