Iva May Olney, 88, of Mancelona died Thu, May 16, 1996, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Acute Care Unit.
She was born in Dec 15, 1907, in Mancelona, the daughter of Clinton and Sarah (Gardener) Miller. On Jan 15, 1928, in Traverse City, she married Archie Olney. He died in 1956.
Mrs. Olney was a lifelong resident of Mancelona. She had worked for Gulf & Western, now known as Dura, for 22 years and retired in 1969. She attended the Antrim Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and fishing.
She is survived by daughters Sonja (George) Lewis of Kalkaska and Judy (John) Varga of Kalkaska; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother Harry Miller of Flint; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter Betty Olney; son Jack Olney; and brothers Roy, Clarence, Todd, and Jesse.
Funeral services were held May 18 at the Paullin-Penzien Funeral Home in Mancelona. Pastor Mark McCool of the Antrim Church of Christ officated. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
